AppleTree

C. Manee on the trees history: Probably it cannot get more unique. While once orchards have been widely spread, nowadays they have almost disappeared to make room for houses, streets and monocultures. An apple tree can become 120 years and it takes many decades for it to form a cavity. You will not get any of this wood unless you know the people who own the very few remaining trees. This tree was standing in a small village within the Bavarian Alps and had to make space for a house.

However, not only getting a piece of this exclusive wood is quite hard. It took a chainsaw, several crowbars, a wire brush, different grinders, manual grinding (from grain size 30 to 400) and three years to get a perfect result. Now the surface is soft and warm and perfectly shows the texture of the apple tree. So that the beauty of the tree and its history can live on.

Please note: Artwork might look slightly different in reality from on the picture above due to light and other effects within photographing. The original tree was already down, so that the living tree on the pictures above is just an example. Of course, we know that Buddha has nothing to do with drinking red wine but in this case, esthetics simply won. The lightning within the floorplate is only an example. The plate can be adjusted/modified/designed based on individual wishes.
